Currently, the new type of graphite heat exchanger features a small footprint and good parts interchangeability. It is assembled from cylindrical impermeable graphite blocks, upper and lower graphite covers, upper and lower graphite heads, a metal shell, and a gland, among other components. It offers relatively good corrosion resistance, a compact volume, and light weight, and is widely used in fields such as chemicals, petroleum, tubing, metallurgy, pharmaceuticals, electronics, food, and environmental protection.

The new type of graphite heat exchanger is affordable, provides high temperature resistance, and delivers effective condensation performance. Its design temperature ranges from -20 °C to 170 °C, and the design pressure is 0.4 MPa to 0.8 MPa. After operation in winter, the cooling medium inside the equipment must be completely drained to prevent freezing and potential cracking of the unit. Additionally, measures should be taken to prevent material evaporation and crystallization, which could block the pipelines. Under operating conditions, the graphite cooler must withstand the radial and axial pressure generated by the media both inside and outside the tubes.

 

The new graphite heat exchanger equipment manufactured by Shengshi Datang Chemical Plant adopts standard modular blocks. The graphite blocks are sealed with PTFE O-rings during assembly, eliminating the need for adhesives in the manufacturing process. This design enhances the operational temperature range and extends the equipment's service life. Within the device, corrosive media flow through the longitudinal holes, while non-corrosive media pass through the transverse holes. Pressure springs are installed to provide automatic compensation for thermal expansion and contraction, thereby ensuring effective sealing and protection. The equipment exhibits strong temperature and pressure resistance, excellent thermal shock resistance, high volumetric efficiency, and efficient heat transfer performance, making it highly convenient for installation, disassembly, and maintenance.
